Why native, and not a website in a shell
Because the difference shows up on the days that matter. A native app puts a new duty on your lock screen without you opening anything. It keeps working in the dead corner of the building where the wifi does not reach. It uses the keyboard, the share sheet, and the accessibility settings you already have set up, rather than an imitation of them.
Most school software gives you a website with an app icon on it. That is cheaper to build, and you can feel it every time you use one.
What they never do
- No tracking, no advertising, no analytics SDKs. There is no third-party code in these apps watching what you do.
- No data sold, ever. Your school's records belong to your school. Kihon holds them to run the service and for nothing else.
- No lock-in. Export everything, free, one click, whenever you like. That is a promise on the pricing page and it applies here too.
